Create a Hospital Location
Go toĀ Settings ā Scheduling ā Hospital Locations.
SelectĀ Add hospital location.
Enter the location details:
Location NameĀ ā Give the space a clear name, such asĀ Cage 1,Ā Run A, orĀ ICU.
DescriptionĀ ā Add any additional details staff should know about the location.
KindĀ ā Select the type of hospitalization location, such as a cage, run, or ward.
Set the Location Status
UseĀ Active StatusĀ to control whether the location can currently be selected when admitting a patient.
ActiveĀ ā Available during hospital admission.
InactiveĀ ā Kept in your configuration but no longer available for new admissions.
This lets you temporarily remove a cage or other space from use without deleting it.
Set Species Restrictions
You can restrict a hospital location to specific species:
Canine
Feline
Avian
Rabbit
Reptile
Small Mammal / Rodent
Other
IfĀ no species are selected, the location can be used forĀ any species.
This is useful for areas such as feline-only wards, isolation areas, exotic housing, or species-specific runs.
Finish
SelectĀ Create Location.
The new location will immediately appear in yourĀ Cages, Runs & WardsĀ list and can be offered when a patient isĀ Admitted to Hospital.
Important: Hospital Locations vs. Exam Rooms
Hospital Locations are specifically for patients staying in the hospital. TheyĀ do not accept appointmentsĀ and do not appear as rooms on the scheduling grid.
Exam rooms are managed separately from the Schedule configuration.
Existing hospital locations can also beĀ renamed, changed, activated, or deactivatedĀ from the Hospital Locations page.
