What is Scout? (Releasing 2026)

Scout is a next-generation environmental sensor designed for high-acuity spaces like surgery recovery suites and kennels.

Scout monitors:

  • Ambient conditions → temperature, humidity, air quality

  • Noise levels → tracks background noise and sudden spikes

  • Distress sounds → identifies unusual vocalizations or signs of patient discomfort

Ideal use cases:

  • Post-surgical recovery monitoring

  • Hospitalization wards / kennels

  • Any area where subtle changes in environment or patient distress may be missed by staff in real time

Scout will sync data into:

  • Environmental Overlay in Atlas

  • Admin Dashboard → Environmental View

  • Optional alerting if thresholds (noise, temp, humidity) are exceeded

What is Scout Mini? (Available Now)

Scout Mini combines environmental sensing with inventory intelligence.
It uses a camera + AI recognition system to:

  • Monitor stock levels on shelves and in storage rooms

  • Track par numbers (minimum inventory levels)

  • Alert when items need reordering

  • Log environmental factors like temperature and humidity in storage areas

Ideal use cases:

  • Pharmacy rooms

  • Central supply

  • Controlled-storage areas (e.g., vaccines, refrigerated items)

How to Set Up Scout / Scout Mini

  1. Power on the device and connect it to your secure WiFi.

  2. In ClinicOS, go to Admin Settings → Devices → Scout.

  3. Scan the QR code on the unit to register it.

  4. Assign the device to a specific room, kennel, or storage area.

  5. Configure alert thresholds (temperature, humidity, noise, par levels).

How Scout Devices Are Used in Daily Workflow

  • Staff dashboards show real-time environmental overlays.

  • Atlas FlowBoard and Alerts displays alerts if recovery patients or kennel areas hit noise/comfort thresholds.

  • Admin dashboards surface inventory warnings from Scout Mini.

  • Data exports can be generated (PDF/CSV) for compliance reporting or inventory audits.
