Admitting a Patient & Using Treatment Sheets in PawthosX One
Treatment Sheets provide a live hospital workspace for admitted patients, including scheduled treatments, monitoring, nursing tasks, care prioritization, and an auditable history of what was completed.

Admit a Patient to the Hospital
Open the patient record.
Select Admit to hospital from the patient header.
Complete the admission details:
Cage / run — Select the patient’s hospital location.
Attending — Assign the responsible clinician.
Acuity — Set the patient’s current level of attention.
Reason for stay — Enter why the patient is being hospitalized.
Initial note — Add information the hospital team or next shift needs to know.
Select Admit.
The patient is added to the live hospital board and their Treatment Sheet opens automatically.
Building the Treatment Plan
Select Add treatment to add orders to the patient’s plan.
There are three ways to build the plan:
Quick Entry
Use Quick to enter multiple orders using natural clinical shorthand.
For example:
Maropitant 1 mg/kg IV q24h, LRS 60 mL/hr continuous, TPR q4h, PCV/TS once
PawthosX structures recognizable doses, routes, frequencies, fluid rates, and schedules and places them into the Reviewarea before anything becomes active.
You can also select common orders such as:
TPR
Pain score
Blood glucose
Blood pressure
PCV/TS
Walk / elimination
Offer food
Client update
Groups
Groups are reusable care scaffolds that add several related orders at once.
Examples shown include:
ER baseline
ICU baseline
Post-op recovery
Selecting a group adds its individual orders to the Review panel. They can be adjusted or removed before activation.
Groups are starting points — not locked protocols.
Manual
Use Manual when you want to create an individual treatment order directly rather than using Quick Entry or a Group.
Review and Activate Orders
Nothing becomes active immediately.
Review the proposed orders on the right side of the window, make any necessary changes, then select Activate orders.
PawthosX schedules the treatments and adds them to the patient’s active Treatment Sheet.
Working From the Treatment Sheet
The hospital workspace includes four primary views:
Now
Now answers the immediate question: What does this patient need right now?
Treatments are organized by status, including:
Overdue
Due now
Coming up
Running
Select a treatment to open its action panel.
Completing Treatments
Depending on the order, PawthosX can request the appropriate clinical result.
For example, a TPR order can capture:
Temperature
Pulse
Respiratory rate
Enter the values and select Save & complete.
For other orders, select Complete once the treatment has been performed.
Delay, Skip, or Hold
Clinical reality changes. An individual scheduled treatment can be:
Completed
Skipped
Delayed by 15, 30, or 60 minutes
Held
These actions change the treatment schedule without requiring the order to be recreated.
Timeline
The Timeline provides a time-based view of the patient's treatment plan.
Each row represents an order and each scheduled dose or task appears at its expected time.
The timeline distinguishes between:
Overdue
Due
Upcoming
Completed
Held
Skipped
Running
Use Earlier, Now, and Later to move through the hospitalization timeline.
Care Board
The Care Board provides hospital-wide awareness rather than focusing on only one patient.
Treatments are clinically organized into:
Overdue — More than 10 minutes past due
Due Now — Due now or within the next 15 minutes
Coming Up — Approximately 15–45 minutes away
The board can also be filtered by:
All patients
My patients
Critical
Hospital location
This gives the nursing and clinical team one place to see what needs attention across the hospital.
Changing an Active Order
Select an order or scheduled treatment to open its details.
From the side panel you can review information such as:
Order type
Schedule
Who created the order
When it started
Priority
Charge / authorization status
Priority can be changed between Routine, Important, and Critical.
If an order should no longer continue, select Discontinue order. Future scheduled treatments for that order are then stopped without removing the historical record.
Audit History
Treatment actions are retained in the order's History.
PawthosX records events such as:
Completion
Entered clinical results
Delays
Holds
Skips
Discontinuation
The team member responsible
Date and time of the action
This creates a continuous record of what was ordered, what actually happened, and who documented it throughout the patient's hospitalization.
