Notes that save as you go

  • The SOAP note editor autosaves. Tab out of a section, or pause for a moment, and your write-up is saved. Move between steps freely and pick up right where you left off.
  • Exam fields save as you tab through them. Work through the physical exam at your own pace; "Save exam" is still there if you like it.
  • Record just the vitals you took. The Vitals & Analytics drawer saves only the readings you enter.

Surgery console

  • Cut start and cut end. Stamp incision and last suture with one tap. Surgical time appears in the header and flows into the SOAP note.
  • A fuller anaesthesia log. The Vitals quick action now records blood pressure, CRT and mucous membranes alongside the rest of the reading.
  • More from the transcript. Spoken blood pressure, gas %, CRT and MM are proposed for the log, ready for you to accept.
  • Drugs bill by the dose given. The amount you log is the amount that goes on the treatment plan.
  • Your choice of how anaesthesia is billed. A new clinic setting keeps drugs logged in the surgery console off the treatment plan, for practices that bill a single anaesthesia charge (Settings → Clinical → Surgery & Anesthesia).

Prescriptions and dispensing

  • Dispense straight from an approval. Approve a refill or prescription request and choose Dispense now in the same step.
  • Approvals that match your practice's policy. When "Require Vet Approval for All Prescriptions" is off, staff with dispensing permission can approve non-controlled prescriptions. Controlled drugs always go to a vet.
  • A simpler dispense form. The witness field appears only when the drug needs one.

Cards on file

  • Save a client's card ahead of a visit. In Billing → Balance → Cards on file, add a card at the terminal, choose a default, or remove one. Nothing is charged, and no invoice is needed.

End-of-visit suggestions

  • Suggestions stay open until you're ready. Take your time at checkout; they'll be there when you get back.
  • Marking a patient as deceased from a suggestion records the visit's date and starts your practice's bereavement automations.

Clients and addresses

  • Apartment, suite and unit now have their own line, and it appears on invoices, certificates, prescriptions and HomeAgain enrolment.
  • Smarter address suggestions fill in the city, state and ZIP from what you pick.
  • Clients abroad: postcodes are checked against the client's own country.

Improved

  • Vitals in your units, everywhere. Readings are stored exactly as entered and shown in your practice's units on the patient header, trends, AI-drafted notes and record exports.
  • Signalment at a glance. The patient's age, species and sex stay on the side rail throughout the visit, and the header shows neuter status (MN, FS, MI, FI).
  • Clearer reporting.
  • Production reflects everything billed in the period.
  • Average Transaction is measured per invoice.
  • Financial reports show "No data" until you've recorded expenses.
  • Provider rankings, labor and inventory health reflect your practice's own figures.
  • Daily Close lists store credit separately from money collected.
  • 🇬🇧 For UK practices:
  • British date formats across reports, labels, exports and emails.
  • A4 documents.
  • AI-drafted notes and discharge instructions in British English.
  • UK phone numbers.
  • "Attending Vet" on the visit screen.
  • UK sample data in template previews.
  • Refunds: card-on-file and Text2Pay refunds are returned to the original card. ACH payments are refunded outside PawthosX, and the app lets you know.

  • Referring vets can submit multiple referrals.
  • AI-drafted SOAP notes name every service on the treatment plan.
  • Recurring schedule blocks stay put across daylight-saving changes.
  • A handful of smaller fixes to SMS consent, hospital discharge and inventory import.
